Calvin Klein Jeans

The Brand: In such competitive market like India’s, where we have diverse choice of brands when it comes to apparels, Calvin Klein has definitely given a tough fight to mainstream brands like Tommy Hilfiger and GAS. Apart from aforementioned names, it has considerable competition with brands like Armani Jeans, Diesel, etc.

The Phillips-Van Heusen Corporation, commonly referred to as PVH Corp, is an American clothing company which owns Calvin Klein and other brands such as Van Heusen, Tommy Hilfiger, IZOD, Arrow, and licenses brands such as Geoffrey Beene, BCBG Max Azria, Chaps, Sean John, Kenneth Cole New York, JOE Joseph Abboud and Michael Kors.

CK is definitely one of the contesting a brand when it comes to upper crest in clothing and accessories, and has absolutely stood out as one of the premium choice for customers while shopping.

In this post, I will be sharing my experience of a pair of denim CK Jeans I recently bought.

The Fit & Feel: The pair of jeans I bought comes for INR 14,999, which is almost USD 234. I know that’s a hefty amount of money to be spent on a pair of jeans, and hence following are the details on fit and feel of the jeans.

As far as the fit is considered, my jeans is what they call it, Skinny (Body Fit), and let me tell you, ‘Skinny’ here does not really mean that body hugging jeans, vis-à-vis, this jeans perfectly fits around your hips, thighs and legs with an elegant fall, which in itself gives the premium experience of spending your hard earned money.

The material of my pair of jeans is a mixture of 87% cotton, 10% polyester and 3% elastane. This again, is an intelligent and perfect blend of consisting materials. Cotton as the base, gives the comfort of ventilation in clothing, polyester as a material gives a sharp finish to the jeans in longer run, and the icing on the cake is definitely the elastane which justifies the ‘Body Fit’ part, and surprisingly it really works. It’s the elastane in the jeans which gives you the flexibility in terms of movement, which is more or less demanded from a pair of jeans.

Apart from this, the rivets are not that prominent, instead elegantly placed in the jeans giving it the classy look. The brand emblem on the coin-pocket is definitely an eye-catcher.

This jeans definitely stands out as the brand itself when compared to the other contenders.

A big thumps up for this one!!

The Stitch: Now, when we think of jeans, one major thought which bumps into our minds is the contrast stitching all over the jeans. It looks trendy, but not always. That’s when the definition of perfect stitch comes into picture, and trust me CK has definitely won my heart in this segment. The stitch is perfectly blended with the tone of the jeans, and with this comes the freedom to wear it on casual as well as on semi-formal occasion.

No rugged threads at the end-points of the edges, no overlapping/underlapping of cloth material. The YKK fly, has definitely been nicely and cleanly appended in the jeans. Full marks to the product so far.

The Store: I did this shopping from the flagship store of Calvin Klein at DLF Mall of India in Noida, India. Now, if you will ask about the shopping experience, the store has a nice modern architecture which makes the shopping experience premium and elegant.

For the store management, I’d say it could have been better if the assistants were trained a little more on presentation skills to make the shopping more convenient and something to remember.

Though it has gone longer than what I thought could be, I hope this review would help you shop for your next or your first pair of CK jeans.

Sooner than soon!!
